River Island Airport Solutions was founded in Ottawa, ON, Canada, in 2023. We provide solutions to airports, airlines and ground handlers to digitalize and automate their work at the airside.

Who we are
Our team has two members in Canada. The rest of the team consists of aviation professionals who are in various locations around the world.
Bulent Ulas – Co-founder and Managing Director
Bulent is an electrical electronics engineer. He has 10 years of experience in airport electronic system projects and maintenance. He was responsible for the electronic systems of Medina Airport* for 6 years. Later, he managed smart airport projects for Istanbul** and London Gatwick*** Airports.
He has a master’s degree in Management Analytics from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University.

Sumeyra Ulas – Co-founder and Administrative Director
Sumeyra is an experienced finance, administrative affairs and CEO office operations manager. For the last two years, she was responsible for managing a high-tech aviation start-up’s administrative affairs and finances.
She was an advisor to the deputy chairman of the governing political party in Turkey. Before that, she was the head of the youth committee of Turkey’s second-largest trade union confederation.
Sumeyra has a Bachelor of Science in International Relations and Political Science.
